I finally finished the lyrics to my version of “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
It’s about “The Diary of Anne Frank” which is the play we’re performing in. We advanced to district. Yay us! :)
Now, this is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down and I’d like to take a minute, just sit right there, I’ll tell you why I wrote my diary in the attic up there.>
In West Nazi Germany, born and raised, in the Jew School is where I spent most of my days. Chillin’ out maxin’, relaxin’ all cool while jottin’ in my diary outside of school.
Then a couple of Nazis said, “Those Jews are no good!” Started makin’ trouble in my neighborhood. We got a letter in the mail and my pops got scared and said, “We’re movin’ to the factory in the attic upstairs!”
I waited each day and then came two years, then Miep would give a message, “The invasion was here!”
We all got excited but the story’s not done.
Later we discover that the Nazi’s had won.
I heard 3 or 4 bangs from door down there
And I heard a German yell, “Yo jews. Get down here!”
I looked to my family
It was finally here
To the camps we go, there is no more fear.
